Hosting: Exploring Innovation at Any Age, AR/VR Training

From April 7 to 11 2025, two members of the University of the Third Age (UTW) in Woźniki, Poland, participated in a training course on Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR), hosted by EGInA in Foligno, Italy.

The course, delivered in English by digital expert Paolo Russo, brought together adult learners from Poland, Spain, Greece and Hungary. Over the span of one week, the 9 participants were introduced to cutting-edge tools such as Zapworks, avaturn.me, and other platforms that allow users to create immersive digital content. They worked hands-on to design interactive presentations and virtual storytelling experiences based on selected elements of European cultural heritage.

Participants actively contributed by identifying cultural materials, creating their own projects and engaging in peer collaboration. They also prepared for an upcoming museum visit by exploring a virtual tour of its exhibits, bridging the digital and the physical worlds through innovative learning methods.

Beyond acquiring new digital skills, the course allowed both participants to improve their English communication, especially in an adult education context. They developed the confidence and competences to work with people from different generations and cultural backgrounds, co-create meaningful content. They used AR/VR as a tool to foster engagement, curiosity and inclusion.

This mobility experience proved that innovation is for everyone, regardless of age.
